I am a Derby Cathedral ringer and I am holding an open day on the 12 bells at St Oulton Campanile, Little Eaton, Derby on Saturday 17th January to raise money for my trip to Peru in summer 2015 with Camps International. I will be involved in community development projects such as reforestation and building schools for the children, a large part of the cost of the trip goes towards these projects. In general we will be improving the standard of living for rural communities.
The bells will be available from 12pm till 3pm and I will make sure that enough local ringers are present so that everyone gets a ring on all 12. Gill Hughes has kindly offered for Belper Campanile also to be available on this day between 2 and 3pm for those ringers who also want to ring there.
There will be a minimum charge of £3 per person and tea and cakes will also be on sale. For ringers going to both towers then we would expect a minimum donation of £5.
Please note that the bells at Little Eaton are located at my house on Brooks Hollow but there is no parking available directly outside the house. However, there is lots of on-street parking available on nearby roads and at the village park next to St Paul’s church.
